This 6 week class will explore Anthotype printing, an alternative photography method which uses photosensitive plant ink to derive a print using the sun.
The study will begin with turmeric, a commonly used organic ink for anthotype printing. With an understanding of the printing process, class will then transition to experimentation with other natural inks including: beets, spinach, blueberries, and more. By returning to our roots through earthen art forms we can experience re-introductions within ourselves. Anthotype printing is a vessel for exploring plant magic and self expression. Students will leave the class with a patchwork tapestry displaying their textile experiments. WEDNESDAYS 6-8PM
