Introducing
​Margaret and David Scott

Margaret, a national leader in the teaching of writing, and David, a community organizer with
experience around the world, are in the final stages of completing their forthcoming book, which
explores their active leadership roles during the Civil Rights Movement in Mississippi and Alabama in the 60’s.

The two met in graduate school at Northwestern University in 1961, re-found each other in 1989,
married in 1990, and have spent many years combining their passions to inspire and empower
students, teachers, and underrepresented communities nationally and internationally.

This collection of antique goods features items that have been displayed in their home passed
down through their families across generations. Now in their late 80s, Margaret and David are
offering these cherished relics to help fund the publication of their new book.
